Dr. Sirrita Darby is an accomplished educator, social justice advocate, and community leader known for transforming ideas into action. She co-founded Detroit Heals Detroit, an organization dedicated to creating healing spaces for youth, and launched THE WR Experience, an innovative intimate event planning business that has generated six-figure revenue and attracted celebrity clients.

Her academic journey reflects her deep commitment to equity and healing: she holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University, a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of trauma in Black, Indigenous, and communities of color, and the radical, community-driven solutions required to foster healing.

Recognized nationally, Dr. Darby has been honored as a Forbes 30 Under 30 leader, awarded the Spirit of Detroit Award, and named an Echoing Green Fellow. Her work has been featured in BET, Afrotech, and Time Magazine. Beyond survival, she champions joy, brilliance, hope, and justice as essential elements of liberation.
