Dr. Sirrita Darby is known for taking ideas to execution. An accomplished educator, social justice advocate, and community leader, she has built her career addressing trauma and promoting healing within marginalized communities, particularly in Detroit. As co-founder of Detroit Heals Detroit, she created spaces for youth to heal and thrive, while her entrepreneurial venture, THE WR Experience, has grown into a six-figure event planning business recognized by both community members and celebrities.
Her academic journey is equally impressive. Sirrita earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University, with research focused on the impact of trauma in Black, Indigenous, and communities of color and the radical solutions required to address these challenges. She also holds a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Social Relations and Policy.
