Ginny Ann Blackson brings more than 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to Helping Nonprofits Thrive. Throughout her career, she has served as a staff member, executive director, consultant, volunteer, and board member across a wide range of organizations, giving her a deep understanding of nonprofit leadership, governance, and organizational development.
Her work spans many sectors including education, economic development, youth services, higher education, hospice care, housing and homelessness, the arts, and women’s reproductive rights. This broad experience allows Ginny to bring thoughtful perspective and practical solutions to the organizations she supports.
Ginny has held senior leadership roles including Executive Director, Director of Development, and Chief Administrative Officer. In these positions, she developed strong expertise in nonprofit management, board governance, financial oversight, and organizational strategy.
A significant portion of Ginny’s career has focused on fundraising and development strategy. She has extensive experience with public and private grant writing, annual giving campaigns, corporate partnerships, planned giving, and donor stewardship.
As a Senior Consultant with Helping Nonprofits Thrive, Ginny contributes to strategic planning engagements by supporting stakeholder engagement, organizational assessments, and strategic analysis. She helps boards and leadership teams translate stakeholder input into clear priorities and practical implementation strategies.
Ginny is also trained in Results-Based Accountability (RBA), bringing a data-informed approach to strategic planning and organizational performance measurement.
