Jessica Johnson is a dedicated nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience in advocacy, program development, and organizational management. She currently serves as the Associate Director of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Washington (CACWA), where she oversees administration, finance, and operations while managing the leadership team. In this role, she is instrumental in public policy advocacy at both state and national levels, grant administration, strategic planning, and training facilitation to strengthen services for children and families affected by trauma.
Jessica has worked extensively in victim services, child advocacy, and nonprofit leadership throughout her career. Before joining CACWA, she spent 15 years at the Quad Agency, a multi-service organization addressing domestic violence, sexual assault, crime victim services, and children’s advocacy. She held multiple roles during her tenure, including advocate, coordinator, program manager, associate director, and Executive Director. She has a strong background in strategic planning, board development, fundraising, financial oversight, policy implementation, and accreditation processes at both state and national levels.
Jessica is an experienced trainer and facilitator, having provided staff, volunteer, and community training on various topics, including suicide prevention, child abuse, trauma-informed care, leadership development, and nonprofit management. She is a QPR-certified suicide prevention trainer and has completed over 1,000 hours of specialized training in areas such as forensic interviewing, crisis intervention, and child welfare best practices. She is also experienced in curriculum development and coaching and mentoring senior staff.
A committed advocate, Jessica has actively shaped policies that impact victims and child advocacy programs. She has strong working relationships with legislators and has successfully championed funding and policy initiatives to support crime victims and child protection services. Her extensive community collaboration includes partnerships with law enforcement agencies, government entities, and social service organizations such as the Women’s Resource Center, Chelan County, City of Wenatchee, City of East Wenatchee, Community Action, and Children’s Home Society.
Jessica’s contributions to the field have been recognized at both state and national levels. In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious Ed Stout Memorial Award for Outstanding Victim’s Advocacy by the Congressional Victim’s Rights Caucus. She is a member of the Attorney General of Washington State’s Sexual Assault Coordinated Community Response Task Force, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, and the Government Relations Committee for the Greater Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society. Jessica also served on the Attorney General of Washington State’s Sexual Assault Coordinated Community Response Task Force.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Central Washington University and has completed specialized leadership training through the Washington State Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Performance and Leadership Advanced Network. She is also trained in Child Abuse Interviewing & Assessment through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and the Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence.
Jessica resides in Wenatchee, Washington, with her husband and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her twin granddaughters, engaging in creative activities, and connecting with family and friends.
